We spent seven full days in the Disney area including two separate campgrounds. The first few days were spent just outside Disney while the last four were spent in Disney at the Fort Wilderness Campground. The whole experience was so entertaining, full of thrills and very exhausting. We did everything from enjoying a dinner at the Al Capone Dinner Theater to mini golf at the Congo River to visiting Epcot, Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom. We also spent a couple of evenings in downtown Disney. Disney Quest and the pubs and restaurants were great. We enjoyed an excellent meal at Fulton's Crab House, a renovated paddle wheel steamship. We spent our last day at Magic Kingdom where we ended our week with a ride on Splash Mountain and by watching the Disney parade march down Main Street from a balcony with a prime view. Overall it was just a wonderful week with beautiful weather. Ed and Claudia

Enjoyed touring around St. Augustine aboard the Trolley Tours. In case you didn't know, St. Augustine is the oldest European settlement in the country, even preceding Plymouth and Jamestown. Although the town has many historic sites to see, it is also loaded with all kinds of tourist attractions. We enjoyed the oldest schoolhouse, jail and general store, all narrated by tour guides in character which was quite entertaining. We also got to enjoy a very nice tour of a winery followed by a delicious wine tasting. Unfortunately, once again, due to the government shutdown, the fort was closed so we were unable to visit. I guess that means we'll just have to go back some day. Ed and Claudia We just spent 6 beautiful days relaxing at the beach on the Outer Banks. The campground was very nice and our site was only about 50 feet from the boardwalk to the beach. The first couple of days were very windy and the surf was wild, but the weather was gorgeous. Stella was able to run the beach a lot and she loved it! Ed had fun flying his new kite. We took a ferry ride to Ocracoke Island one day (Stella loved her first boat ride). More miles and miles of beautiful beaches and a cute little village. We rented a golf cart to see the sights and Stella had her own bench seat in the back. We also visited the Wright Brothers National Monument and museum in Kitty Hawk - the day before all the national parks were shut down! Claudia |
AuthorsEd and Claudia always dreamed of retiring and travelling the country in their motorhome. They retired in 2013 and this is the continuing story of their adventures on the road. Archives
