Our very first hike was to Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret, CT. It was a cool, partly sunny day – perfect for a hike. We packed a lunch and headed into the woods. Since school was still in session there were very few people in the park. We only ran into one woman coming off the trail as we started out and didn’t see another soul for our entire hike. The trail we took was just under 2 miles, but was pretty steep. It was a good first outing.
Stella was ecstatic! She is never happier than when she can run free in the woods with her nose to the ground. We all slept well that night! Claudia
