Our tenth year on the road... 05/2023 - 09/2023
-- The Year of the Maritime Provinces --

We spent much of our tenth year on the road exploring an area that had been on our bucket list from the beginning. Although the weather was a bit cooler and wetter than we had hoped, we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. The Maritime provinces is a region of Eastern Canada consisting of three provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. In addition to visiting all three of these provinces, we could not pass up spending three weeks in the province of Newfoundland which included a seven-hour ferry trip out and a twenty-hour ferry ride back. We spent much of our time there driving along gorgeous coastal scenery, but we also spent many hours on foot as we hiked along miles of trails across the northeastern part of North America. We also learned so much about the development of the area by visiting museums and landmarks. As usual we incorporated many other stops along our journey including stops in New York City, Acadia National Park in Maine, Churchill Downs, and the Kentucky Derby Museum and Land Between the Lakes Recreation Area in Kentucky. And of course, we enjoyed time with our families in North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
